Good morning every one! Today I'm going to be talking about how to CONSERVE AND RESTORE TERRESTRIAL AND FRESHWATER ECOSYSTEMS
So, what exactly is happening?
Industrial wastes, sewage, runoff from farming, cities, and manufacturing effluents, and sediment buildup are all examples of freshwater contamination. Human water extraction damages freshwater environments. Water quality is harmed by runoff from agricultural and urban areas. Wetland drainage for development depletes ecosystems, and groundwater resources are threatened by overexploitation and contamination.
One of the primary causes of ecosystem deterioration is pollution. Pollution has the potential to destroy resources and drive local animal populations away. Trash, carbon emissions, oil spills, and pesticides are all significant contributors of pollution.
There are a few NGO'S that are trying to solve this issue like:
Fauna & Flora InternationalThis NGO the tries to conserve threatened species and ecosystems worldwide. Its been established over a century ago, Fauna & Flora International is the world's oldest international wildlife conservation organization.
When wastewater is dumped into a body of water, it is vital to apply regulatory measures in order to preserve biodiversity. One of the most essential strategies to maintain aquatic biodiversity is to raise public awareness. Educational initiatives, reward programs, and volunteer monitoring programs can all help with this. Other ways to help are planting trees each year and protecting them until they are grown. Reusing solid trash relieves municipal and government organizations of the cost of managing it. Also protecting water bodies such as rivers, ponds, lakes, and wetlands in the neighborhood, and managing pesticides in agriculture.
But what can you do to help?
Have a great day! THank you for listening!
