After a long journey and the death of some of his men, Odysseus and his men arrive to the land of the Cyclops. Once they arrived, they see a cave full of sheep and crates of milk and cheese. Upon arrival, Odysseus's men tell him to just take some of the food and leave afterwards. However, to their surprise, Odysseus lingers and doesn't leave. The cyclops Polyphemus, the son of Poseidon, returns to the cave.

"Ah, how sound that was! Yet I refused I wished to see the caveman"
Odysseus and his men take the opportunity to explore and look around the cave while the Cyclops were busy with their sheep. They found a crate of cheese, milk and more food. Odysseus's men told him to leave the food and escape in order to not get caught, but Odysseus insisted and stayed. He had no idea what consequences this would cause.

I cannot believe Odysseus and his men have taken my food and had the audacity to stay. They will see not to mess with me. I will teach them a lesson.
"Why not take the cheese, get them stowed, come back, throw open air then pens make run for it?"
