- Battle with Grendel
- We are the Geats, men who follow Higlac. We have come seeking your prince. You know that your country is cursed with an evil creature

- Beowulf and 12 men come to Denmark to help King Hrothgar. Hrothgar's kingdom was being tormented by an evil monster named Grendel.
- Battle with Grendels Mother
- Beowulf and his men went into the Mead hall to sleep. While the 12 men were asleep, Beowulf wasn't actually sleeping. He was awake ready to attack Grendel when he came to devour his prey.
- Beowulf and Grendel fought vigorously in the Mead hall on that fateful night. Beowulf came out on top and in the process of his victory tore off Grendels arm as a token of his win.
- After the victory over Grendel, the fury from Grendel's mother shimmered all throughout Denmark and Hrothgar's kingdom. Beowulf accepted his next challenge and headed off to the dark swamp where Grendel's mother lived.
- Beowulf had to swim for 8 hours before he reached Grendel's mother. The two fought for ages and this battle was a step up from Grendel. He knew going into the fight was going to be a tough one. His sword wouldn't work but he eventually got it through her thick skin and won the battle.
- After another victory by Beowulf, he finds Grendels dead body and cuts his head off. He then grabs the sword he used to kill Grendel's mother and swam to the top. Everyone but Beowulf's 12 men left him. The 12 men greeted him with happiness and celebrating his victory.
