From my research i have learned that the natural body rhythm makes them sleep late this connects to my own experience since in summer it's a total chaos and since i also find it hard to sleep in school nights i try to keep myself busy with sports avoiding heavy meals at night and sugar and sweets and replacing them before bedtime in 2 hours like warm milk bananas and nuts, this helps my body relax. I can relate this to my own life because when i have heavy meal at night i don't feel comfortable while sleeping therefore i have changed to lighter meals that helps me improve both my sleep and my overall health

Since as a teen your body is developing scientists say that our body needs 8-10 hours of sleep because there is a biological need for the body to maintain good health.What happens during puberty the biological clock shifts making it hard to sleep that's why we need to train our body for sleeping time and try not to ruin it during the weekends because it will make it harder when school starts. If sleeping hours were not met we would feel tired during school because the sleeping cycle is not constant.
