My name is Rachel. Today is my 11th birthday, but i do not feel eleven.
"Whose sweater is this? Its been here for the past month!" exclaims Mrs. Price.
"Not mine!" said Sylvia Salvador.
"Not me." says Rachel.
"I remember you wearing it once." said Mrs. Price
Thats not, I dont, your not,...... Not mine. Rachel said in a little unsure voice.
"I think it belongs to Rachel."Sylvia states.
This scene is the exposition of the story Eleven by Sandra Cisneros. In this scene Rachel wakes up on her 11th birthday but she does not feel eleven.

This scene shows the rising action also known as the step before the climax. In this scene Mrs. Price asks everybody who the sweater belongs to, but everyone in the class responds with "not mine" or "not me."
This scene shows the climax. The climax is the action of the story. In this scene Sylvia states that the red sweater is Rachel's but Rachel knows that it is not hers. Mrs Price continues to agree with Sylvia which makes Rachel sad and upset.
My birthday is ruined!
This scene shows the start of the falling action, where Rachel just lets her feelings take over her and on her birthday, starts crying in the middle of class. Although Mrs. Price continued with the math lesson she was teaching.
This scene shows the falling action also the resolution. Phyillias Lopez realizes that the sweater is hers and takes it from Rachel. Mrs. Price doesnt have a reaction.
This scene shows Rachel being dissapointed and sad because her elenth birhtdya was ruined.
