Chapter 1 Part 2

Storyboard Tekst

  • Dia: 1
  • Farmer Will, wild animals don't have people choosing what traits they pass on. How can they end up different from one another?
  • Dia: 2
  • That's tricky. Some people say that two plants are different species, while others say they are varieties of the same species.
  • But Farmer Will, how do you tell if something is a new species or just a variety?
  • So it sounds like the line between variety and species is fuzzy. But why do small differences matter so much?
  • Dia: 3
  • Well, that is because big changes come from little ones. Not every difference grows into a new species, but some might if they help an animal survive or reproduce.
  • I know this one! Creatures that roam far and wide, like insects and birds, tend to show more variety. They're spread out, facing different challenges, so their families change in different ways too!
  • Does that mean that animals that live in more places have more chances to change?
  • Dia: 0
  • So now that we're in the wild, we're going to meet animals that look almost the same but not exactly. We're going to start learning why sorting them into neat little boxes is so difficult.
