- "It was 1880, and the British were trying to take over our country. Did we want the British to take over?

- After the incident, Parvana, her mother and Nooria could not sleep well, Parvana, asked mother to turn on the lamp, she had hope that they might release father, but mother refused due to the circumstances.

- As the family was laughing, the Taliban entered ruthlessly, and took father away because they didn't want "any of his foreign ideas in Afghanistan" The family was devastated.
- Arriving at the prison
- I'm here for my husband He was arrested last night. He has committedno crime, and I want him released!

- In this part, father starts telling his stories as usual, and even though he tells the same stories, Parvana and her sisters were always listening

- mother and Parvana cut a long way to the prison, but when they got there, they started pleading that they released their beloved father, but the guards beat them up
- While Parvana was shopping for her poor family who haven't eaten for days, a solider infuriates her, she runs away screaming, and that's when she meets Mrs.Weera who stood up for her, and walked her home
