"Content thee, gentle coz, let him alone. Verona brags of him. To be a virtuous and well-govern'd youth. I would not for the wealth of all the town here in my house do him disparagement:"
Act 2 Scene 4
A challenge, on my life.
"Tybalt, the kinsman of old Capulet, hath sent a letter to his father's house."
Act 3 Scene 1
A plague o' both your houses!
If Lord Capulet hadn't allowed Romeo to stay at the feast, perhaps he wouldn't have spoken with Juliet. Then Juliet wouldn't have become utterly besotted and could have just brushed their eyes meeting as a thing that would pass.
Act 3 Scene 2
O, break, my heart! Vile earth to earth resign; end motion here; and thou and Romeo press one heavy bier!
This moved the plot forward because it resulted in Mercutio being at the duel. Mercutio had died at said duel, so if Benvolio hadn't told Mercutio about the challenge from Tybalt, then Mercutio wouldn't have interfered with the duel.#160; Mercutio wouldn't have died and Romeo wouldn't have a reason to slay Tybalt.
Act 3 Scene 4
O' Thursday, tell her, Juliet shall be married to this noble earl.
Mercutio's death was the main instigator to the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo had once said that he loved"A stain on both houses" This could have been foreshadowing for the ending in which the feud had resulted in their deaths.  Here, Mercutio had defined himself as the stain. But then the feud could also be defined as a "stain". Hence, maybe it's foreshadowing? Then I just added Benvolio in the background because he's useless.
Act 4 Scene 3
Leave me to myself to-night. For, I am sure, you have your hands full .
I just wanted to say that this is one of my favorite scenes because of the mutual misunderstanding the Nurse and Juliet had in the beginning. I just thought it was amusing how the Nurse wasn't being too clear, but she thought Juliet understood, while Juliet was actually misunderstanding and presuming the one dead was Romeo. I was laughing internally when I read the scene.
O Tybalt, Tybalt, the best friend I had! O courteous Tybalt! honest gentleman!
If Capulet had not given Paris permission to wed Juliet on Thursday, then Juliet wouldn't have been desperate to find a solution. Then Friar Lawrence probably wouldn't have to make the plan to mimic death and have Romeo take her away. Then Juliet wouldn't have "died" and Romeo wouldn't have had to commit suicide.  Also, it's ironic that he wouldn't have forced her hand only days before during Act 1, but now he disregards her feelings of "grief" and her non-consent to the wedding.
If Juliet hadn't been able to convince the Nurse to allow her to dress herself, then perhaps the Nurse would have been able to find the poison. Either that or take the dress with her to clean, which would have then left Juliet without the potion.  If Juliet didn't have the potion, then the Friar's plan wouldn't work, as Juliet would not be put into a death-like coma.  If this scenario happened, then the Friar might be forced to wed Juliet and Paris. Or perhaps Juliet would have actually committed suicide then and there, Romeo discovers the death, then dies with her again.
