- The conflict of the story is the fact that Tucker keeps getting called mean names. Tucker wants to do something about it.

- Tucker and the raft man get hit by a wave.Tucker tries to save the man and fears for his life after. Then he sees Richard.
- People praised Tucker for saving the man. he even stoped getting called names.

- Tucker grew up got taller and joined the coast guard. He also stopped talking about Richard after realizing he wasn´t alive.Oh and he married lashanna mae
