- Gettysburg Battle of Civil war took place in Pennsylvania on July !st 1863 by Union and Confederate forces. It is considered one of the most important battles of the american civil war. This battle was a victory for the Union at Chancellorsville.
- The battle of Gettysburg started with the confederates clashing with the Union's army of Potomac at the crossroads of town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.The Union's general leaders that had the most impact on the Union force were General Robert E. Lee and General George G. Meade. The next day grew the fighting even more because the confederates attacked the generals from the union.
- On July 3rd, Union General Lee sent out an attack by fewer than 15,000 troops on the enemy's center at Cemetery Ridge. This attack was also known as "Pickett's Charge". Although the upper hand by the conference hurt the Union, the Union force had a major turning point.
- The assault managed to pierce the Union lines but eventually failed at the cost of thousands of rebel casualties. Lee was forced to withdraw his battered army toward Virginia on July 4th The Union had won in a major turning point by stopping Lee's invasion of the North.
- After the victory of the North, the battle had a significance in Pennsylvania because general Lee wanted the focus to shift to the summer campaign. This was important because it was the cause of the turning point for the North. General lee began the battle slow leading to their victory.
- The outcome of the Battle of Gettysburg was a victory for the North. Their strategy by the number of casualties of the entire war and is often described as a turning point for the North. The importance came from the stop of the Confederate momentum in the Eastern theater and avoided any chance of Europe intervening.
