- Rusty and Steve meet on the beach as adults and reflect on when they were kids
- Hey Rusty, it's Steve. Remember, we were best friends when we were kids.
- It's been so long! It's nice to see you, but I hate thinking back to those days
- Rusty-James Fights Biff Wilcox
- You are nothing compared to me!
- Rusty gets expelled from school for his constant bad behavior.
- We will not put up with this anymore! Rusty, you are EXPELLED!
- "'I could have been really glad to see ol' Steven, if he hadn't made me remember everything'"(Hinton 5).
- Patty breaks up with Rusty for cheating on him
- We... Are... DONEEE
- "I'd get in a fight about once a week. I hadn't lost a fight in almost two years"(Hinton 23).
- Rusty get's jumped by two guys in an alley, but luckily, the Motorcycle boys saves him.
- Don't move or you're dead!
- "That afternoon turned out to be more interesting than I'd bargained for. I got expelled"(Hinton 61).
- Motorcycle Boy gets shot and killed by the cops while trying to release the "Rumble Fish" into the river
- DON'T MOVE!
- "'I heard all about you and that black-haired tramp.' She was so mad she couldn't even speak for a second. 'Just get lost, she finally said'"(Hinton 68).
- Patty Whyyyyyyyyy
- "'What happened to those guys that jumped me" I asked.'He clobbered them,' Steve said. He didn't sound grateful.'Bashed one of them really good'" (Hinton 101).
- Motorcycle boy.... uh.. is that you?
- "I was there when they turned him over, and he was smiling, and the little rumble fish were flipping and dying around him, still too far from the river"(Hinton 131).
