To show that women can wear pants too, like many other famous women who started the trend on wearing pants, not caring what others think are, Amelia Airheart, Mary Tyler Moore, Katherine Hepburn, and Coco Chanel.
I Believe this did spread awareness but not only that but it pushed others to go outside their normal boundaries and try something new! Maybe it was something they always wanted but not to be judged for it, but Mary changed this.

Equalities, many blacks didnt get to do many of the things that whites did. Like get proper jobs and marry. The same thing kind of goes for women in this movement aswell, because just like blacks they didn’t have the rights to vote for a long time.
