  • I think the title of "The Kite Runner" might symbolize loyalty, guilt, and childhood innocence. Kites connect to many themes such as childhood, competition, freedom, and memory. Flying kites is a childhood activity and memory that many people have from a long time ago. The kites can represent freedom because of the way they fly high in the sky, but they can also represent competition between people, over who can fly them the highest or the best.

  • As a child, the narrator remembers being behind a crumbling mud wall, and peeking into an alley near a frozen creek, in Kabul, Afghanistan. In the present day, the narrator is living in San Fransisco, California. This change in setting affects my understanding of the narrator because moving thousands of miles away to San Francisco shows that he tried to geographically escape his past. However, Amir is brought back to his childhood, which proves that change in scenery cannot erase his memories and past hardships.

  • One source I used was Britannica.com. It was published by August Samie on September 5, 2026. I would rate the source good on authority, accuracy, and relevance to the novel. I would definitely use this source again because I know it is a trusted website with good and accurate information.
