- Sam Westing disguised himself as Sandy and played the game with the 16 heirs.
- Turtle went into the Westing house and she found Sam Westing "Dead" on the floor, but later on she relized it was a wax figure. This shows the Sam Westing faked his death because it wasn't actually him dead. It was a fake.
- In chapter four it says, "Turtle had seen the corpse in the Westing house, but it was notrotting and it was not sprawled on an Oriental rug. The deadman was tucked in a four-poster bed." This shows Turtle finding Sam Westing but later on realizing it was a fake, because Sam Westing never actually died.
