Macbeth Act 1

We will establish our estate upon Our oldest, Malcolm, whom we name hereafter The Prince of Cumberland.
Once Duncan receives assurance that former Thane is dead, he is joined by Macbeth, Banquo, Ross, and Angus where he thanks Macbeth and Banquo for their bravery. Duncan also announces to them that his son Malcolm will be his successor. Upon hearing this is when Macbeth knows Duncan must be killed in order for him to become King.
Scene 4, Duncan's Meeting.
He must die if I shall become King.
Lady Macbeth questions Macbeth's manhood and calls him a coward for not wanting to kill Duncan anymore. She doesn't believe he has what it takes. Macbeth wanting to prove Lady Macbeth wrong he agrees he will go through with it.
Scene 5, Lady Macbeth and Macbeth.
I dare do all that may become a man.
When you durst do it, then you were a man.
Like Macbeth, A Series Of Unfourtunate Events shares the same theme. The Baudalaire Children's uncle Count Olaf was given custody of them when their parents died and all he cared about was finding out ways to take their fortune. He made it his goal to get it, and throughout the series he does everything he can to get it.
