- During 1803 the United States Bought Louisiana territory from France for 15 million dollars. This decision led to the United States size to grow.

- When New Spain was founded people who were not Spanish were being treated unfairly. The lower class such as natives were especially suffering.

- Father Hidalgo was a priest who wanted to every citizen in New Spain to be treated fairly. He and many lower class citizens revolted against Spain.

- A Filibuster is a person who starts an unofficial war on a country. They do not listen to any government and act for their own benefit.
- Guiterrez and Magee created the republican army to rebel against the Spanish. They were defeated but inspired many.
- After Mexican leader, Agustin de Iturbide lost power people wanted a change in government. So they called an assembly to write a new constitution.
