Storyboard Tekst
Water and nutrients are ESSENTIAL to the survival of plants.
Vascular plants take in water and nutrients in the soil using their roots.
Plants use their leaves to absorb the nutrients they need that are in the air like oxygen and nitrogen.
Xylem (vascular tissue) stores and transports water and water-soluble nutrients in plants that are vascular (upwards). This happens through the stem.
The phloem (vascular tissue) will transport the plant's food (mostly sugar) up or downwards to the leaves. This happens through the stem.
Finally, the leaves use the water to photosynthesize. They take food from the phloem and transport it to other parts of the plant.
