Storyboard Tekst

  • During lunch time, Buddy struggles to sit still and runs around the lunch area. This is explained by his difficulties controlling his impulses. Buddy is not able to guide his thoughts, emotions, and behaviours and as a result he is unable to better focus thinking and be patient.
  • My Turn!!
  • Buddy does not wait his turn to get his lunch and when he is told to wait for his turn, he gets frustrated and responds inappropriately. He runs around the room and shows disruptivebehaviours. Buddy has trouble with impulse control, tantrums, and difficulty in self-regulating emotions.
  • Buddy Talks too loudly during lunch and does not take turns in conversations. He has difficulties letting a conversation flow into a different topic. This can be explained by the fact that Buddy does not have self-control or self-monitoring skills and he cannot resist the temptation to speak over others.
  • Buddy eats his sugary snack (e.g., pudding) before his sandwich and other healthy food. He cannot decide on steps of a process and think through that process to work toward the most important tasks. This is explained by the fact that Buddy has trouble following a sequence of steps and prioritizing tasks.
  • Pudding first!!
  • Buddy forgets to eat most of his lunch as he gets distracted and forgets what he is supposed to do at the moment. Buddy starts a task, gets distracted and never finishes it. Buddy has difficulties keeping track of what he is doing and has self-controlling challenges.
  • Why didn't you finish, Buddy?
  • No-one picks Buddy for lunchtime soccer because he is too loud and annoying. His ongoing patterns of uncooperative and disruptivebehaviour are signs of poor inhibitory control and as a result he cannot assess hisown performance as compared to a specific standard.
