  • Bryan went to Harvard law school. He worked for the Southern Center for Human Rights. The center represented people sentenced to death in Southern states. Bryan knew he wanted to continue thiswork
  • He once had a case where his argument was that a life without parole sentence for children 17 and under was cruel and unusual convinced the court to rule in his client’s favor.
  • Bryan led the development of the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, which honors almost 4,000 African Americans executed in the South. He also wrote a book called"Just Mercy" a story about justice and redemption
