- Oklahoma Panhandle, 1938
- This is me and my half sister with my Dad and his new wife.
- As a baby Charlotte was pretty quiet, but now it was the complete opposite. All she ever did was complain. It just never stopped.
- Tell us what's wrong.
- Please calm down...
- I became angry with her always wanted something, and never liking it when things don't go her way.
- I wanna wear this dress!
- A few weeks past and nothing seemed to change. I could never spend time with Louise or Dad because all of their attention was on Charlotte. It made me feel lonely.
- I thought maybe walking would help me feel better. I was led to a path that was unfamiliar to me but I took it anyway.
- I don't really know this path.
- The path led me to a beautiful field of flowers and there standing a few feet away was Mad Dog. Although I haven't talked to him in a long time, seeing him made me feel less lonely.
- Nice to see you.
- Same to you too Billie.
