- Ruby Nell Bridges was born on September 8, 1954
- In Kindergarten, Ruby took a hard test to get into a white school. This test was designed to keep the schools segregated. Ruby passed this test.
- Ruby Bridges was escorted to school by four U.S. Federal Marshals. There were large crowds of people were gathered in front yelling and throwing objects.
- Her teacher was Barbara (Mrs.) Henry. Everyone other kid in Mrs. Henry’s class did not stay in the same class. Ruby and Mrs. Henry sat side by side next to each other every day, and Ruby was not allowed to go to lunch or recess.
- She went to Kansas City business school and became a world travel agent for American Express

- In 1984, Ruby married Malcolm Hall in New Orleans. She later became a full-time parent to their four sons, Craig Hall, Sean Hall, and Christopher Hall. Also, in 1999, she formed the Ruby Bridges Foundation, headquartered in New Orleans.
