More dolphin offspring are produced than survive. Not all of baby dolphins will make it to adulthood without dying or being eaten.
#4 Struggle
There are variations in dolphins. Dolphins can inherit the color of their skin. But, the color of skin can also be an acquired trait. The pink dolphins don't receive a pink gene for skin color, they turn pink over time. One variation of skin color is chosen for and one is chosen against.
#5 Selection
The dolphins have predators such as large sharks and orcas. Which inhabits the same location in the ocean. The sharks;and orcas pose as a threat. But, pollution is also in the oceans which can harm dolphins.
# ADAPTATION
The dolphins are always struggling to say alive against pollution.; There is also a struggle for some dolphins not to get eaten by large sharks and orcas due to natural selection and adaptions within the environment.
The variations are selected for and against. The organisms with the beneficial color adaptions help them survive. A unique color, such as pink, white, and black colored dolphins doesn't adapt as well in their environment. The harmful adaptions to the dolphins make it easier for sharks and orcas to find dolphins.
Over the course of many years, evolution and natural selection work together to form a population with more successful dolphins. Although, there are still black, white, and pink dolphins. Even though they don't adapt as well in the environment these colored dolphins still exist.#160;
