- I have returned from Apollo and I was trusted to find the killer
- Ode of Entry
- god Zeus relive are plagues
- The priest and the people come to Oedipus for help because of the plagues in Thebes. Various troubles. 
- 1st Episode
- Tiresias you are spreading lies and I want you exiled
- Oedipus you are the killer and caused the suffering of the city
- Creon returns from Apollo with instructions:  find the killer. Oedipus promises to find the killer
- Second Episode
- The choral called on the god Zeus to relive their plagues
- Third Episode
- Polybus has died of natural causes. Oedipus was a gift from a shepherd who found him on a rock
- Tiresias goes on to say that Oedipus is the killer and the suffering of the city and Oedipus gets furious. Oedipus is certain Tiresias is spreading lies and wants Tiresias exiled. Tiresias gives Oedipus a clue to the killer that he is not lying by saying that the killer will become blind and will turn out to be both the son and husband of his own mother

- Creon is confused why Oedipus would accuse him of getting Tiresias to lie so he could get the throne. Jocasta tells Oedipus, out of a sign of relief, that not all prophecies are true and tells him that there was a prophecy on her son that he would kill his father and marry his mother. Jocasta reveals that Laius was killed by a band of robbers not by her son
- You are siding with tiresias
- why would you accuse me lying for tiresias
- Laius was killed by a band of robbers not by my son
- Jocasta comes to the altar of Apollo and places an offering there, hoping to stop her husband from thinking about the past and listening to the prophecies
