- Using their knowledge of astronomy, Maya people built the Haab calendar. It was one of the most accurate calendars every created.
- The mayans built the most acurate calendar based on their incredible knowledge of astronomy and mathematics. The haab calendar has a month thats called the Wayeb which only has 5 days.
- The Haab calendar has 365 days and the calendar restarts everytime the earth completes a lap around the earth. They knew this by using shadow casting devices and observing the horizon.
- The Long count calendar was used to date important historical events and mythical creatures. This calendar ends in 2012 and people thought that the world was going to end.
