- Ashoka built the greatest empire India had ever seen.
- No more violence!!
- Ashoka led his army south into Kalinga to force them to be under rule of Ashoka. He won a bloody war and over 100,000 people died.
- You will meditate and be in peace when you do!
- When you start supporting Buddhism there won't be anymore violence!
- Ashoka felt very sorrowful about the war. He was thinking and decided to change his beliefs to Buddhism.
- Ashoka made Buddhism the religion for the Mauryan Empire. He banned the killing of all animals and made new laws revolving around Buddhism.
- Ashoka sent missionaries on trade routes to the far-east to share knowledge about Buddhism.
- Ashoka died at age 72. When he did die India started to divide and it took 600 years for them to become united again.
