- A story all about Illa-Rose Ralph
- Hi, I'm Illa-Rose and I used to live with my mum, and see my nanna all the time until I was 2 years old! It was pretty cool and fun! But, there were some hard and tricky times too.
- One of the tricky times was when I was 2 years old. Mum and nan thought I was sick, and I had to go to hospital! This was really scary and I was worried!
- I wasn't sick, but mum was sick, and she had to stay in the hospital for a looong time, and I didn't get to see her.
- The Doctor explained that mum was sick.....
- Your mum is sick with something called 'mental illness', and it makes us feel all yucky and sad inside.It's something that we cannot see but she is unwell and needs help to make sure you are safe!
- Some ladies I didn't know came and spoke with me at the hospital. They said they were from DCP, I didn't know what that meant. I felt pretty confused I was only a little girl.
- Hey Illa, we are from DCP and we keep children safe! We know this is scary, but we are here to help.
- The ladies told me that I had to leave the hospital without mum. This wasn't mums fault and it wasn't my fault either. It just meant that I couldn't live with mum while she was sick. Nanna couldn't look after me either because she was sick too. This made me feel sad.
- I felt sad, worried and angry! I just wanted to see mum and know she was ok!
- After a couple of days, I went and lived with my Aunty Kristen for a little while, to wait for mum to get better.But I couldn't stay with Kristen and her family that long, so I had to move. I felt a bit sad about this.
- We love Illa-Rose! We want to make sure she is safe while her mum gets better!
- I then got to live with Aunty Ellie and Uncle Dylan! It was sooo much fun and I got to do lots of things! They love me so much and make me feel happy and safe!
- I want to make sure Illa-Rose is safe when she comes home!
- While I lived with Aunty Ellie, mum worked really hard to get better!! She went to so many meetings with DCP and other people to learn how to be a safe mum!
- She thought really hard about making sure I was safe and happy!
- I need to be better for Illa-Rose.I love her so much!
- She learnt lots of new things about being a mum, and how to make me feel safe and loved!
- MUMMY!!!!! I LOVE YOU TOO!

- We would go and do things together!
- We would go on awesome adventures and she was really silly! I love hanging out with mum!
- Because Mum was getting better and learning about how to be a safe Mum, Manoah from DCP said I can visit with my mum at her home!
- It was so much fun! I missed being at home with Mum. I love my visits with her.
- I know it's going to be really hard not living with Aunty Ellie and Uncle Dylan anymore, and I will miss them a lot and I have so many cool memories from them!
- Sometime I will think about Aunty Ellie and Uncle Dylan and feel sad, but this is ok, because I have mum here to help!

- Aunty Ellie and Uncle Dylan are happy for me to go back to mum, as they know that she is safe and I will be happy!

- This is my mum! I don't live with her because she got sick and she had to get better and learn new things about being safe parent!
- I live with my Auntie Ellie and Uncle Dylan! I love them so much! They made sure I was safe while mum got better!
- Their home is so cool and I feel really safe there! I love it there!
- While I lived with Aunty Ellie and Uncle Dylan, mum worked really hard to get better and learn things!! She went to so many meetings with my Social Worker Manoah at DCP and other people to learn how to be a safe mum!
- I want to make sure Illa-Rose is safe when she comes home!
- We did so many visits! Which I love! It's great spending time with mum! Manoah said this was to get mum to practice being a safe parent!
- Mum has to keep practicing to be safe, and to make sure I am happy and ok! Part of this is that I get to sleep over at mums house! In my old room!
- On Monday, Aunty Ellie will take me to preschool and Mum will pick me up from preschool! I will then go to mums house for a sleepover!
- DAY 1: Monday
- Hey!! Ready for a sleepover?!
- On Tuesday mum is going to take me to school transition and then to childcare. Mum will then pick me up from childcare and I will have another sleepover at her house!
- DAY 2: Tuesday
- I get to have another sleepover!
- On Wednesday Mum is going to take me to preschool where I will see Auntie Ellie. Aunty Ellie will then take me to her house.
- DAY 3: Wednesday
- Hey Illa, ready to come and see Uncle Dylan?
- On Thursday it's our big preschool show and I will be doing the Welcome to Country! This is very exciting! I will be sleeping at Aunty Ellies!
- DAY 4: Thursday
- On Friday I will go to childcare with Mum, and then Mum will pick me up from childcare and take me to her house, where I will have another sleepover!
- DAY 5: Friday
- On Saturday, Manoah from DCP will pick me up from Mum at 10:00am and take me back to see Aunty Ellie and Uncle Dylan. I will get to sleep at their house again!
- DAY 6: Saturday
- DAY 7: Sunday
- I get to stay with Aunty Ellie and Uncle Dylan all day, and all night!
- DAY 8: Monday
- On Monday morning Aunty Ellie will take me to preschool nd Mum will pick me up. I will then get to live with Mum!
- I live with my Mum again. I sometimes miss Aunty Ellie and Uncle Dylan and think about them. Mum tells me it's ok to miss them and to remember them. I'm happy being home with Mum. I love Aunty Ellie, Uncle Dylan and Mum so much!
