Wolf Hollow gaat over de 12-jarige Annabelle McBride die opgroeit in de schaduw van de Eerste Wereldoorlog en midden in de Tweede Wereldoorlog. - Wolf Hollow takes place in 1943 in the midst of World War II. There are switchboard phones, old cameras, and water wells that were common place at the time. The family listens to news of the war on the radio and men from the town have been killed overseas. It has been a little over 20 years since WWI. Toby fought in WWI as a young.

- The story takes place in Wolf Hollow, Pennsylvania, a rural town with rolling hills and farms. Annabelle's grandfather says it used to be overrun with wolves until local farmers corralled them in a pit and shot them. Annabelle lives on her family's farm.
