Finding A Water RouteI need money, a crew, supplies, and ships. I need a map with sailing routes from Europe west to Asia.
My First VoyageI sailed with three ships - the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria. The crew and I set sail for China, but we got sidetracked to the Bahamas and sailed to Cuba. I thought we landed in China.
My Second VoyageI went sailing this time with 17 ships. I was looking to settle new lands in the Americas. Instead, I returned to Hispaniola to see American Indians, gather gold, and spread Christianity .
My Third VoyageI decided to set sail again to find mainland Asia and China. Instead, I found South America and planted the Spanish flag in Venezuela.
My Final VoyageThe Spanish monarchs gave me money for the trip. I set sail to find India, but found the coasts of Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. I sailed back to Spain with no wealth. I died on May 20, 1506.
