Storyboard Tekst

  • For the first many years of America Women were limited on what rights they were given, especially that they could not vote. Women had no say in what went on in the government. Women began protesting for their say in what went on in their country.
  • Women struggled for years protesting and fighting for the right to vote. Over the course of 72 years, 1848 until 1920, women protested and argued their voices into the government. Women argued that if they weren’t given the right to vote then they shouldn’t be taxed or have to be prosecuted for crimes.
  • After many years women were finally allowed to take place in elections. Finally on August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified. And on November 2 of that year, more than 8 million women across the United States voted in elections for the first time.
