- Did you know the clergy of the Roman Catholic Church has formed the first estate?
- Yes! They own 10 percent of the land in France as well as supporting help and education programs for poorer people.
- We are rich nobles of the second estate! There may not be a lot of us, but we don't have to pay taxes!
- We also own 20 percent of France's land.
- I am a part of the Bourgeoisie, or the third estate. We consist of bankers, artisans, merchants, and factory workers.
- We also believe in having equality, liberty, and freedom!
- We are the poorest of the third estate!! We are often out of work and get paid very little for the jobs we do.
