- Freud came up with the Ego defense mechanisms which are when someone takes their big emotions and distorts it to a more acceptable or less threatening form. This specific defense mechanism is displacement, where you redirect your impulse onto a different (more acceptable) target.

- Karen Horney identified a type of personality called compliance which is defined with moving towards people. When someone has a compliant personality, they seek affection and partner.

In this picture, I am not confident with my hitting but I should be confident with my hitting, so I am trying to unite the two in order to be my best self.

- Costa and McCrae were a major component of the big five traits. One of the big five traits is neuroticism, which consists of being worrisome and pessimistic. In situations this trait tends to be over the top worried while others may be more calm.
