- Nomination
- Lilac went to have a consultation with a doctor because she’s been having severe headaches and vomits every morning.
- I'm Dr. Mendez, right this way please.
- “Hello, I am Lilac and I’m here for my checkup?”
- Restriction
- “I’m not yet ready for a child yet, doctor. I’m still too young for a child.”
- Dr. Mendez concluded that Lilac is pregnant, after doing some tests. But Lilac does not seem to like the idea of having a child.
- “Ms. Lilac, I happily announce to you that you are pregnant! Aren’t you happy?”
- Turn-Taking
- “No doctor, I’m not okay. This is not what I wanted.”
- Dr. Mendez comforts Lilac who is not happy with the news delivered by the doctor.
- “Are you okay Ms. Lilac?”
- Topic Control
- “No, we already broke up.”
- Dr. Mendez asks about the father of the child to try and have him console her but Lilac immediately denies that they’re still together.
- “I am not in the place to meddle with your personal life and I know that you are a strong woman, but does the father of your child know about this?”
- Topic Shifting
- Dr. Mendez tells something about a parental group that may help her in her current situation.
- “How about I recommend you to a very wonderful group that may help you about your problems.”
- Repair
- “I’m sorry, my mind was preoccupied, what did you say?”
- Lilac did not understand what Dr. Mendez said because she was in deep thought. Dr. Mendez explained properly what she said and gave her a card.
- “If you would like to join a group of open women, here is the address and name.”
- Termination
- Dr. Mendez and Lilac bid each other goodbye.
- “Thank you Dr. Mendez, I’m sorry for wasting your time.”
- “Your welcome Ms. Lilac, I look forward to our next appointment.”
