Icebreaker: A Visual Introduction- Amrita Ganguly

Hello, I am Amrita Ganguly! I have worked as a PreK teacher and I'm currently on a break from my work to be with my toddler as well as work on completing M.Ed in L.S.
We are a family of 4: my husband, our two sons, and I.
I also have a graduate degree in Comparative Literature and worked as a Career Consultant for 3 years. I completed my ECE certification from Harper College, Palatine, and worked as a Substitute Teacher in Preschool and PreK classrooms.
I am interested in making a change in my career path and work in academia so that I can help prospective educators harness the best educational practices that will empower them to help students become confident, responsible, and knowledgeable individuals of tomorrow.
I am a firm believer of 'unity in diversity'. While working with my students from diverse cultural backgrounds, I always strove toward making them feel confident and proud of their own cultural backgrounds and ethnicities and encouraged them to share their values and traditions with their peers during 'All About Me' sessions.
I have lots going on in my bucket-list: complete my graduate degree by 2023, go back to work, compose and publish a book of poems for children with my older son, and visit the National Parks all over U.S. with my family.
