The scene represented here is an example of Figurative language, more specifically personification. during this section, Clarissa is shrieking in horror over the fact that she has just had her hair cut by the knight, and is being compared to the sounds of china falling, and breaking on the ground below, as well as the shrieks from heaven above. I believe the theme at this point in the poem, is the emotions that a women may feel from having part of her own personality, get snipped, and stolen from her.
The scene represented here is an example of Figurative language, specifically, a Hyperbole. during this part, Clarissa is described to be half drowned in tears over her hair, which being half drowned in tears, is something we all know can' literally happen. I believe the theme being presented here is still being developed as the roles of Men and women in society, and how women often feel that they are powerless against the men who attack them in these ways.

The scene represented here is an example of Time Manipulation, specifically a flashback. The Narrator recalls back to a time where he had been of a similar mind to the man in the story, however instead of making his charms and wants public, he had kept them to himself, showing us the reader of the mind of some men. I believe that this further expands the theme of the powers between men and women in society, and shows us how men can often hide their true desires from the world
