- The setting is a house that is extremely technological and is self sufficient, living on its own schedule as if humans still lived inside.The author explains this story to have a mood that is very lonely since the loss of humans makes it so the house is working for no reason, for example the author said," At eight-thirty the eggs were shriveled and the toast was like stone."
- Climax
- A whining dog has appeared at the front door but the door opened on its own and let it in. There seems to be animals inside but they are all technology, the author states the house was an altar for all these tech animals since it gathered them all.
- Falling action/ Personification
- The dog filled with sores and hunger was waiting for the food so excited and wagging his tail only to die before it was done.
- Resolution/ Theme
- Though the house is fully technological it cannot stop natural disasters. A tree has fallen on the roof.
- Because the tree has fallen on the roof it also hit the kitchen window, and a fire started to quickly spread. The house started to act quickly and the author states that," The house tried to save itself". Though the author gave a lot of personification examples I chose this since it I feel like trying to save itself is the most human like quality.
- The house was dying out, once again going to be lonely. There was voice, it would continuously state the day and year, it was probably thinking a new and normal day would start again. This story has made a theme to show and give a example of how technology will live and possibly rule over humanity, only going to be more scary as it advances
