Antony guards carry him to Cleopatras tomb. The women do no open the door, but pull him up via ropes to a high window were they speak sadly together and Antony warns Cleopatra not to trust any of his men apart from Proculeius. Cleopatra faints as he dies and after the women revive her she says for them to remember him as a hero and after Antony's burial they must all also die. Cleopatra sends a messenger to Caesar telling him that Antony is dead and what his plans are for her. Caesar sends Proculeius to capture her to take her on her triumphal procession.

Antony and Cleopatra have crossed the Mediterranean and assembled there fleet of ships at Actium. Cleopatra orders her ships to retreat with Antony loyally following her meaning that he has surrendered to Ceasar losing the battle.
I am surrendering to Ceasar!
As soon as Caesar goes, Cleopatra whispers to Charmian. They have a plan to put into action. She dresses in her robe and crown for the last time and uses her jewels to bring an asp to her which is a poisonous snake for death. She holds the snake up to her and it bites her. She kisses her maids goodbye and Iras dies from her poisonous salvia. She lets the snake bite again before dyeing. Chairman straightens the crown and as the soothsayer promised her, she has outlived Cleopatra, but only by a few minutes and then the guards rush in and she takes the snake and lets it bite her.
