This is my presentation about my creature, the furraptus, and how it adapted over time from a survival pressure.
Tekst Storyboardowy
I love jaja plants!!
I can use my teeth to eat lizards and birds!!
Yummy!!
What are they doing here??
Shhhhh!! Everyone hide!!
They’re all dying…
My jaja plants!! Oh no!!
And the lizards!!
The birds are still alive though!!
I can’t eat this…
The furraptus, a creature that lives deep inside of the Yunque National Forest are four-armed mammals that eat mainly on jaja plants until a random genetic mutation occurs. This mutation produced furraptus with teeth! The never seen before phenomenon allows for the newly toothed creatures to start eating birds and lizards found in the forest with the help of their arms and claws.
No food anywhere…
So hungry…
These birds are delicious!!
One day explorers from a distant land come into the forest to look for new life and creatures. The furraptus hide so the foreigners don’t see them, but, unbeknownst to the furraptus, the explorers brought a disease with them that only affects the jaja plant.
We don’t need jaja plants to live!!
After the explorers leave the disease starts to kill all of the jaja plants in the forest. The plants turn grey as a result and lose any nutritional value they once contained. The plants are no longer able to sustain the furraptus in the forest.
I like lizards…
…I prefer birds though!
We all can eat the animals this forest offers!
Now everyone has teeth!
The jaja plants officially die out and the furraptus without teeth begin to starve. The furraptus with teeth continue to thrive and eat the lizards and birds found plentiful in the forest. Because these furraptus were not solely reliant on the jaja plant, they are able to survive despite the plant's disappearance.
Yum yum!! Lizards!!
All of the furraptus without teeth die out and only the toothed creatures remain. These creatures rely on the birds and lizards found in their habitat and have no reliance on the jaja plant anymore.
Oh no… but we will survive!!
The toothed furraptus reproduce with each other and the mutation becomes an adaptation that helps the creatures survive. All of the furraptus in the population that lives in the Yunque National Forest now have teeth. These creatures continue to reproduce and thrive off of the lizards and birds in the forest.
YUM!!
