It's great that here in the south we have fertile soil, warm climate, and a substantially length of a farming season.
Yes, because of those conditions the south becomes a great place for farming and growing and selling cash crops.
Political(What political factors shaped the south?)
Now that I, Abe Lincoln, am President, I will try my best to end slavery. Slavery is wrong and it mistreats innocent people.
Ending slavery would be good, but the south will be mad if they learn that you want to end slavery. The south uses slaves every day and they play a huge role in their economy. The south will be mad at us no matter what we use to reason.
Economy(What was the south's economy based on?)
It's such a shame that Tobacco is a Cash Crop that's easy to grow and sell here in the south.
Yeah, now more slaves will be bought and forced to work so their owners can sell the Tobacco and become wealthy.
Social(Explaining the Social Hierarchy)
I like the Social Hierarchy system/structure that we use; Planter: they have lots of land and lots of slaves, Small Farmers:owned land but about 10 slaves.
Then poor farmers: had little land (mostly near the Appalachian Mountains) and no slaves, then Slaves: those who did labor.
Society(What roles did people in various socio-economic status levels serve)
I support the Social Hierarchy because I'm a planter. My life is easy with slaves doing all of my work over all of my large land.
I dislike the Social Hierarchy, because I'm a slave at the bottom I get no rights and freedom!
Cultural(What culture traditions helped shape the south?)
Christian services are big here in the south, we also let slaves come to regular worship services and learn bible verses.
Since us Slaves can go to church, we get a break from our labor to pray to god, this gives us hope to one day gain freedom. We also get the chance to read literature by Fredrick Douglass and Mark Twain. All these opportunities give us chances to do normal things.
