- The majority of the cell's life is spent in interphase while it gets ready for mitosis.

- Sure, let's begin with prophase, the initial stage. Chromosomes can be seen as the nuclear membrane vanishes. Animal cell centrioles begin to produce fibers and travel to the opposing sides.
