- 16 and in school...
- I need to leave school my mental health is bad and my grades are not what I wanted.
- I know I will work!
- Working for a couple of years and unsure
- Sure, what would you like for me to do?
- Hmmmm.... Is this what I want to do for ever? I do so much already....
- You are doing a great job we would like you to take on more responsibilities.
- Woke up unable to walk (3years)
- I don't want to go back to working there... I am capable of so much more... but now I might never be able to work again.
- several years later, overworked and exhausted.
- Oh no! I need to get back to work!
- We don't know what's wrong with you, we suspect it is neurological damage.
- You can not work at the moment as yo will need to be in hospital for months.
- I am seeing someone, his name is Jack
- School was good for me until 6th form where I suffered wit depression and a lack of direction
- Time to change my life
- I am really happy for you
- I loved my job, I worked 90 hour weeks and thought the place would shut down without me. This made me worry about all my staff and service users.
- Making the change
- You can do anything, you are so clever but you don't have any confidence.
- Couple of years later I wanted a change of career and was planning to do something else, when one morning after covering a sleep in shift at work, I could no longer walk, talk properly or move my arms effectively,
- Now
- Shipley College
- I can't believe after all these years I have made it to where I want to be.
- I met Jack, we moved down south for a couple of years but I was not a fan and this is when big changes in the way I thought about myself and abilities.
- Jack works at a college and used to teach he inspired me hugely to complete my degree. My uni lecturer said that I should teach and this was not the only person who said I would be good at it.
- I will go do my Maths, then my degree. I think I want to be a teacher.
- I didn't want to rush straight in and began work as an LSA. Loved it immediately! Was supported my a business teacher in the college to pursue teaching, unbeknownst to me HS care team already had their eye on me. Now a year in to teaching I am super happy with my choice as well as the route in life it took me to get here.
