Jesus Sentenced to Die

The Soldiers Mock Jesus
Hail, King of theJews!
The Crucifixion
The governor was accustomed to release a prisoner for the crowd at the Feast. They had a notorious prisoner called Jesus Barabbas. When the crowd gathered, Pilate asked the people who they wanted to be released/freed. After the chief priest and the elders persuaded the crowds to have Jesus killed, the people decided for Jesus to be crucified and Barabbas to be freed.
The Death of Jesus
The soldiers then took Jesus and put a crown of thorns on his head and stripped of his robes. They put a staff in his right hand and knelt in front of him and mocked him. They spat on him and beat his head over and over again. After they mocked him, they took him to be crucified.
They came upon a man from Cyrene named Simon, who then helped Jesus carry his cross. When they were crucifying Jesus, they divided his clothes among themselves by casting lots; they sat down there and kept watch over him.
Jesus cried for the last time and breathed his last. Jesus dies and at that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two. The earth shook making people believe that Jesus was really the son of God and rocks split; because of Jesus' resurrection the tombs were opened and bodies of many saints/ holy people who had died were raised to life in the kingdom Jesus has opened, also known as heaven.
