- The field slaves would plant rice and would harvest cotton,sugar,rice and tobacco

- House slaves had an easier time as the work was not so hard but they were under their master or mistresses eye.

- Slaves were punished by whipping,shackling and beating
- Food
- Slaves would have to live in a small one room,they would only have a bucket to do the toilet in. There pots and pans were sometimes stored on a shelf outside there house to save space.
- When slaves weren’t working they had the option to go to church
