Oedipus cracked open the fortune cookie that he received during one of his favorite meals. The fortune, which stated to "kill his father and marry his mother" startled Oedipus causing him to pack up all of his belongings and move to Thebes from Pennsylvania away from his parents. He eventually became a caring and courageous mayor of the city
