- Atticus is protecting Tom because he knows it is unfair to him because of his color. Atticus is doing the right thing no matter their color.

- Atticus and Tom are victims prejudice acts. Atticus, because is helping out Tom and Tom, because he is a man of color. even though Tom did nothing wrong all evidence is backing him up as well. they still see him in the wrong.
- Tom is represented to kill a mockingbird because he did nothing wrong and was trying to live a happy life. Mockingbirds are of their good deeds, and pure hearts, such as Tom. this giving the name of the book To Kill A Mockingbird
- Tom is persecuted because he's black. Boo Radley is persecuted by his parents for some long-ago infraction. Boo Radley and tom show that not to base people on their appearance can be harmful to the person being criticized. even though boo looked scary he was actually a nice man leaving presents for the kids and such.
