- While David and Sophie secretly play by a sand gully, A boy named Alan from David's town spots them. David and Alan do not like each other, and David is worried that Alan might notice Sophie's feet. He doesn't want Alan to discover that Sophie has 6 toes.

- *gasp*
- As Sophie and David try to get away, Alan sees Sophie's foot print in the sand. He notices Sophie's extra toes, and begins to ask about her. He realizes that he's never seen before, and grows very suspicious.

- I HIT HIM
- David refuses to give Alan any information in an attempt to keep Sophie safe. Alan now knows that Sophie is a mutant. He wants to go inform the Inspector and David's dad.#160;

- I'm afraid it's come, my dear
- #160;#160;#160;You're quite sure he saw?
- David is very upset, and doesn't want Alan to expose Sophie to Waknuk. To give Sophie a chance to run away, he attacks Alan, and they start fighting.
- AAARGH!
- Alan is much bigger and stronger than David, so he got the upper hand in no time. Sophie saw that David was getting really hurt as Alan was punching him. She grabbed a rock and threw it at Alan's head. Alan flopped down on David, and lost consciousness.#160;

- David and Sophie went to Sophie's home to tell her parents that someone had discovered her. Her father couldn't believe it. Her mother knew that this would soon happen, and was prepared. They tell Sophie that they have to run away, because soon Alan will have informed David's father and Sophie will be hunted down.
