Character vs. NatureMaisie was running in a lightning storm when a electrical pole got hit and it fell on her.
This scene happens on page 8 of "Faceless" by Alyssa Sheinmel. The conflict between Maisie and the storm turns into a tragedy that soon changes her life entirely. Her skin gets extremely damaged, and it's considered a "miracle" that she's alive. She has to deal with this new reality, but she doesn't want to accept it. She tries to deny everything, which makes her stubborn about her injury.

Character vs. CharacterMaisie is trying to accept her new self and that she will never be the same.
This scene happens on page 26 of "Faceless" by Alyssa Sheinmel. After Maisie's accident, the first time she sees herself, she is in disbelief. She feels like a freak. She is scared to be in public, see any of her friends, or do anything outside of the hospital. She is scared and feels alone in all of this because she doesn't have anyone to relate to. She is reliant on others and wants to fit in, but now she has to learn to be different.
