  • The house-the only one in the entire valley - sat on the crest of a low hill.From this height one could see the the river and the field of ripe corn dotted with flowers that always promise a good harvest. The only thing that the earth needed was a downpour or atleast a shower.
  • ''Now we are really goimg to get some water, woman ''
  • It was during the meal that,just as Lencho has predicted, big drops of rain began to fall . But suddenly a strong wind began to blow and along with the rain very large hailstones began to fall. It did not pass quickly . For an hour the hail rained on the house, the garden , the hillside , the cornfield , on the whole valley . The corn was totally destroyed. The flowers were gone from the plants . Lencho's soul was filled with sadness.
  • When the storm had passed , he stood in the middle of the field and said to his sons ,
  • '' A plague of locusts would have left more than this. The hail has nothing left. This year we will have no corn. There is no one who can help us. We will all go hungry this year.
  • When the postmaster saw the letter , he was shocked as well as surprised . He was happy to see the faith lencho had in god .He doesn't was his faith to be shaked . So, he got some money from his employees and charities . He send those money to Lencho.
  • during this tough time, lencho's one and only hope was his faith in god . So, he decides to write a letter to god.
  • when Lencho received the letter , he was happy as well as angry. Because he wrote in that letter that he want 100 pesos[ money ] . But there was only 70 pesos in it. So he wrote another letter , in that second letter, he wrote not to give the money through post, because the post office employees would steal it.
  • THIS SHOWS THE FAITH THAT LENCHO HAD IN GOD
