There are many differences between the sun gods, Egyptian mythos details that the sun has many forms. In Greek mythos the sun is represented by many gods. In Both Aztec and African mythos they are represented by a single god. In Chinese mythos it was an archer who shot down the suns and wasn't even a god.
A sun god is significant because many civilizations needed a belief in how or why something was the way it was. The sun was part of everyday life and is a powerful symbol in the sky that never leaves. Many cultures personified this object because is was powerful and helped in many things.

- Apollo is not THE sun god but represents the sun. Apollo more carries the sun across the sky in his chariot.
- Re is the Zenith of the sun and the ruler of the gods in his pantheon. He has two ther forms/names Kephri and Atum.
- Hou Yi was an archer who shot down the suns but never actually a sun god. He was called after the ten suns were causing devastation on the earth.
- Tonatiuh is the fifth god of the sun, because there is a god for every age. The aztecs sacrificed to the sun god to keep him strong.
- Liza is the god of the sun with a sister of the moon he also represents working and strength.
