Taking a tour and exploring both the commonalities and differences across different cultures, such as gender roles, customs, and subsistence, helped me understand how communities including my own function. It bridges the past and present to understand how history shapes present societies. A lot of the things I learnt from this course can be applied in various aspects of life, personal and professional.

Our way of living is just one of the many valid possibilities. The biggest difference between any two people is often just their zip code.
Anthropological concepts should be introduced early as it teaches critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It challenges inherit biases, deepens self-awareness and reduces fear of the unknown. Looking at human diversity without judgement strengthens relationships, improves leadership, and facilitates collaboration.

The biggest take away for me is that cultural relativism is not just morally important, but it's essential for stability. Ethnocentrism often leads to political polarization, fuels discrimination, and blocks cooperation. Only with empathy and understanding can we stimulate emotional, cognitive, and social growth.
