- In London there was a soldier named Major Wilbraham. He was bored being home, so he went to Mr. Parker Pyne. Major Wilbraham had no wife or kids. So Mr. Parker Pyne sent him with Madeleine to find out what he wants in a woman.
- Madeleine came back and told Mr. Parker Pyne that Major Wilbraham likes a woman fair-headed, blue eyed, and not too tall. So Mr. Parker Pyne found a woman named Freda Clegg.
- Mr.Parker Pyne sent them an address to Eaglemont, Friars Lane. Then when Major Wilbraham got there he heard a cry for help coming from one of the houses so he went inside too his surprise there was two men fighting a woman so he went in to go fight them after he finished fighting them they went to go get a cup of coffee and talked about what happened.

- After they went to the coffee shop Freda invites Wilbraham to her house but she is not there and is at Eaglemont, Friars Lane. When Wilbraham got there he was hit on his head and woke up in a room, Freda was in there and trapped as well than a voice came on the speakers telling them that the house has great treasures and he does not trust them with it, so he attempted to drown them.
- Freda and Wilbraham where able to escape through wooden stairs they found and after they escaped they got married.
